Students will grow and develop strong character as they draw upon the experiences of these four biblical hero's-Abraham, Jacob, Joseph and Daniel. Students will learn grammar for understanding of writing using the Writing Process. Students plan, draft, revise, proofread, and publish eight different types of writing: game instructions, friendly letter, persuasive essay, story, book report, sound poem, research report, and compare-contrast essay. Lead students through the growing pains of the new nation from the Constitutional Convention through the Civil War and the westward expansion. Study together celebrations and traditions, the transcontinental railroad, ranchers, cowboys, and outlaws of the Wild West. Topics are grouped into nine strands: Numbers and Operations Measurement Geometry Patterns, Algebra, and Functions Statistics, Data Analysis, and Probability Problem Solving Communication Mathematical Reasoning Connections Life Science - Animals, Plants, Ecosystems and Habitats, Classification, Cells Physical Science - Energy, Work, Motion, Matter, Force, Machines Earth and Space Science - The Lithosphere, the Hydrosphere, the Atmosphere, Astronomy Human Body - Senses, Musculoskeletal System, Nervous System, Health, Disease and Disorders Students will build reading comprehension, grow in phonics skills, and at the same time take in character-building stories that demonstrate biblical truth and timeless virtues.Bible- Positive Action for Christ
