Bible-Positive Action for Christ

Using the theme of an athletic competition and drawing from the studies of various Bible characters and an overview of the book of Revelation, students will learn how the principles of God's Word can help them gain victory in life.

English-Bob Jones

Students plan, draft, revise, proofread, and publish eight different types of writing: compare-contrast essays, newspaper editorials, personal narratives, instructions, historical fiction, limericks, free verse, research reports, and cover letters for submitting work to a publisher. 

History-Bob Jones

Students will go on a tour of the history and culture of ancient civilizations like Egypt, China, Israel, Greece, Africa, the Mayas, the Roman world, and the European Middle Ages. "Then and Now" maps vividly show the contrast of these ancient civilizations with the modern world. 

Literature

Students will read and study the following novels

  • Amos Fortune, Free Man
  • The Bronze Bow
  • Johnny Tremain
  • Red Wall
  • Case for Christ

 

Math-Saxon 7/6

Math 7/6 simultaneously develop the five basic strands of mathematics: number sense/operations, statistics/probability, algebra, geometry/measurement, and logic. Math 7/6  is the "end of general math" book, and emphasizes the use of ratio and proportion in problem solving.
