Bible - Postive Action for Christ
Students will learn that all we have comes from God and that the ultimate gift that God gave us is His Son, Jesus Christ. Stories from everyday life are used to encourage the development of specific character traits.
Phonics and Reading - ABeka
- Review of vowels, consonants, blends, one- and two-vowel words, consonant blends
- Recognition and use of all phonics special sounds in reading
- Spelling rules: doubling consonants, dropping silent e, changing y to i
- Oral Reading
Language - ABeka, Writer's Workshop
- Capitalization of first word in a sentence, proper names, days of the week, and months of the year
- Correct punctuation at the ends of sentences
- Recognition of complete sentences
- Words using suffixes, prefixes, syllables, compound words, rhyming words, opposite words, same meaning words, and contractions
- Alphabetizing of words
- Writing complete sentences and short stories
- Creative writing

- Life Science - Study of animals, ecosystems and habitats, and classification
- Physical Science - Study of energy, work, motion, matter, force, and machines
- Earth and Space Science - Lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and astronamy
- Human Body - Senses, nervous system, cardiovascular system, digestive system, respiratory system, and health
Heritage Studies -Bob Jones
- Follows events in the New World from pre-Columbus days through the middle 1600s
- Topics include Plymouth Plantation, trading, Native Americans, and homes and families of the time from a biblical view
