East Campus: Mondays, October 10th - November 14th. 6:30 - 8:00 PM in the Children's Building Sanctuary. West Campus: Mondays, October 10th - November 14th. 6:30 - 8:00 PM in the Spanish Chapel. God called the prophet Isaiah; "Come, let us reason together . . ." All good things have been created by the Living God. He doesn't call us to a blind believing, but to a reasonable following. He called Isaiah to reason with Him. He calls us to worship Him with . . . our mind. That in mind, Anchored places a strong emphasis of not only understanding the "what's" of Christianity, but the "why's" of Christianity as well. We're committed to studying the evidence which makes our faith so strong. This Bible Study Series is titled "Origins." There is a general rule in Bible study called the law of first reference. If you want to discover the meaning of a word or a belief, go to the first place it is found. You will gain great insight into its meaning. Well, nearly all essential beliefs of the Christian faith have their origin in the book of Genesis. Our heart is to explore several essential beliefs to Christianity, and be encouraged that God began revealing these beliefs in the very beginning. Series Outline: Week 1: The Origin of Life - A look at life as we know it and what the Bible teaches us about its origin Week 2: The Origin of Sin - What is sin exactly? Why is it so bad? Where did it come from? And most importantly, how do we overcome sin? Week 3: The Origin of God - Have you ever been asked: where did God come from? We will explore that. Perhaps more importantly, we will explore the origin of Jesus and the plan for God sending His Son to this earth. Week 4: The Origin of Salvation - The penalty of sin is death. The plan of God is salvation, accomplished through His Son. What are the origins of the belief of salvation, and where can we find this teaching in the book of Genesis? Week 5: The Origin of Israel - Genesis provides an incredible account of the origin of Israel. Be amazed as we discover how God authored this people and led them to become one of the greatest nations on our planet. Week 6: The Origin of the Church - Can the church be found in Genesis? What is the church? How do the church and Israel relate? Who is the Bible Study for?
