A native of Portland, Oregon, Adam was raised in a Christian environment, but had little interest in Christianity, or the Bible for that matter. As he grew older, God became more of a distant thought, a big guy in the sky to turn to when life got rough. Life was good, and his love was for sports and the pursuit of self worth. After all, becoming a Christian would mean a life of restriction and boredom; he was too young for that. High school was a reality check. His parents' divorce and physical injury led Adam to reevaluate life. He became discontented, confused, and wondered if his pursuits would materialize. At this time God came back into the picture. Questions entered his mind. Who is God? Is it really boring and restricting to follow God? Three months after graduating and a career in soccer no longer possible, Adam welcomed into his life the One he had earlier shunned. He discovered the freedom, the excitement, the internal happiness God gives to all who follow Him! "Whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it." (Matthew 16:25) Adam began attending Calvary Chapel Bible college, graduating at an extension campus in York, England. In January of 2006 Adam moved to Tucson, Arizona, and began working at Calvary Tucson shortly after as an Intern and later as an Assistant Pastor. Currently Adam serves as the College Pastor and Overseer of the Children's Ministry. Drawing from his own experience, he is passionate about teaching kids their worth to God, encouraging them to live only for Him. With the children, his message is simple and clear: God is always there. He loves them, and gives eternal life to all who live for Him. Teaching Ignition, Adam emphasizes the reliability of the Bible, and the importance of trusting God to be their sufficiency in all things. Adam loves reading biographies, studying apologetics (defense of Christianity and its reliability), and hanging out in coffee shops. Above all he loves spending time with his beautiful wife Jess, and daughter, Emma. Ignition Young Adults Adam Parsons - Assistant Pastor
